Unit aim
This unit aims to promote the learner’s practical understanding of the key concepts, tools, and processes underpinning the use of a game engine as a tool to produce a game to facilitate opportunity to develop technical knowledge and understanding of 2D and 3D engines to design and produce game mechanics, with a context of an understanding of potential audiences and destinations.
Assessment criteria
Learners can:
Analyse key concepts, methods and processes involved in using 2D and 3D games engines
Use a game engine to build the mechanics of a functional 2D or 3D concept game
Evaluate strengths and areas for development in relation to effective use of the game engine, the success of the conceptual game produced and to personal development
